Learning coaches apply for their role by letter at the end of Year 5, after they have spoken to Y6 pupils who have previously carried out the role. When the new learning coaches have been appointed, they attend training with our staff coach, and they are then paired with Y3 coachees. The Y6 coaches get to know their coachee and then plan activities to help their coachee use our 10 Ways to Wellbeing, reflect on learning approaches and identify their goals. After each session, the coaches reflect on how things went and they support each other in planning the next session for their coachees. A staff coach also attends the meetings.
