Week 8

We have had a fabulous week full of sunshine, great learning and laughter.

In pre-school and Foundation Stage the children have been doings lots of fun number activities, jumping to reach the biggest number and lots of water painting of numbers. The bug hunt was a big success.....although in this lovely weather most of them were hiding!!!

Class 1 have had a focus on the Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig, making houses, maps, building and constructing and making crowns so we can be Kings/Queens of the Castle. The children have had a wonderful week sharing their learning together and even taking a driving test on the bikes and trikes.
Class 2 have been pompom making, drawing a perfect circle to recreate some Kandinsky art and getting very messy with a bit of Jackson Pollack splatter art. Alongside fairy fires, tidying the shed, board games as well as our maths and literacy learning the children have had a wonderful week.

The teachers and support staff have been so impressed with the children's learning and attitudes this week. Mrs Rose-Price, Mrs Jonker, Mrs Ibbeson, Miss Buckley, Mrs Heddon, Mrs Beales, Mrs Shute, Mrs Blagdon and Mrs Sandford, Mrs Rowe, Mrs Davis, Mrs Hughes  and Miss Milman have worked tirelessly to make our school a happy place. I am very thankful to them for all their hard work.

Wishing you a wonderful sunny weekend.

Week 6

We’ve all had a lovely week in school this week, despite the rain at times! The children have continued to enjoy their learning, both indoors and outdoors!

We’ve continued to start each day with some form of physical exercise, Just Dance being a particular favourite for some! There has been lots of great Maths and Literacy learning each morning, following the learning set on our Class blogs.

Class 1 have made potato characters to help with their instruction writing. They have also carried out lots of fun science experiments including rocket mice, blooming flowers and magic rainbows! They have used lots of fun resources to help with their maths such as cars and numicon. They have also made Dreamcatchers. On Friday, Class 1 made a big wooden banner to say Thank You to the NHS.

Class 2 have had a great week of learning and have done lots of fun activities including bench ball in the hall, and have made some fantastic animations using plasticine and lego.

All of the children have had great fun at Forest School this week. They have made clay creatures, built lots of dens, completed some team building activities and enjoyed hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows around the fire. All the children had a lovely time with Mr Upston on Thursday playing bean bag football and becoming pros at New Age Curling!

It has been a really fun week of learning, although still feels very strange to have such a small number of people in school. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Stay safe everyone.

This week we have had such a lovely week in the sunshine. We have continued to enjoy exploring the outside space by using the scooters, bikes and games.

We have been very busy in lessons with our Maths and Literacy. We have tackled our tasks every morning and have particularly enjoyed having time to explore our topic learning menus this week in Class 2. In class 1, we have continued with our phonics and have worked hard on our writing and maths skills.

In the afternoons, we have enjoyed a range of different activities. In Class 1 we have made sun catchers, spray painted giant paintings, explored chalk and make 'Thank you' bunting. In Class 2 we have decorated and created protective casings for eggs before dropping them from a height, made birthday cards for Captain Tom, created a collaborative art project and carried out team building activities.

We have also been lucky enough to have Mr Upston in who has taught Class 1 new parachute games and took his life into his hands with archery in Class 2.

It has been a lovely week with lots of smiling and laughing.

Week 4

We are so lucky to still be enjoying the sunshine. We have had so much fun outdoors at Forest School, den building, making fires and cooking.

We have been making the most of our OPAL loose parts, as you can see by the wigs! We've also enjoyed using chalks to create large scale drawings and draw around each other . Some of us have been planning and writing a different version of Cinderella and using deines to work out calculations.

Mr Upston has taught us this week, we have been playing rocket golf!

Its been a fantastic week , the children and staff have had a great time despite how quiet the school is without everyone here!

Keep in touch everyone, we are looking forward to seeing you all as soon as we can!
