Meet the Mentors
Y6 mentors apply for their posts by a letter of application at the start of Year 6. They can be identified by their distinctive red jackets. Their weekly mentor roles include: office duties, lunch hall duties, assisting with lunch club, helping organise games in the reception playground and reading with Y1 children. Both staff and children really appreciate the help that the mentors give throughout the school. Here’s what some of our Year 1 children said about their reading mentors:
Scarlett: I look forward to reading with Daisy [6RN] because she helps me with the words. I wish we could do it every day!
Isabella: I like reading. It’s fun with Lucy [6RN] because she helps me with the words at the back of the book. She helps me sound them out.
Mikey: I like doing reading questions with Lizzie [6RN] because she is kind. I’m good at answering the questions.
More information from our School Mentors will be coming soon as the term progresses.
