Teaching Assistant - Pinhoe Primary School & Nursery (Cedar Tree Federation)

This job advert is for a fixed term One to One/ General Teaching Assistant position.

Pinhoe Primary School is a large primary school in Exeter, with their own maintained Nursery on site.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with energy and enthusiasm who is willing and capable of being part of a busy and diverse school. An ability to inspire children to achieve and give their best in the classroom is paramount. 

The ideal person for this post will have experience of supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs, as well as a creative and flexible outlook to support teachers with general classroom provision. 

The post is fixed term as it is linked to EHCP Funding. The role will initially be within Key Stage 2.

As well as working one to one with pupils and supporting other children in the classroom, the role includes playground duties and helping to supervise the children at lunchtimes.

You will:

  • Be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with children, staff and parents.
  • Be well organised and hard-working with a good sense of humour.
  • Be able to work calmly and accurately under pressure and show resilience where necessary.
  • Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues within the school.
  • Be prepared and able to initiate and manage change, where necessary.
  • Be aware of, and devoted to, the educational needs of individual pupils and the larger school community.
  • Display commitment to high standards of professional behaviour, acting at all times as an ambassador for the school.
  • To promote the welfare and safeguarding of children.

The role is full time, 8.30-3.30pm term time only.
